My First Blog Post…So Excited!

So, today is my very first blog post (see title of blog post).  lol.  I am still in the process of getting my blog up and going, so I wasn’t sure if I actually should post yet, but I couldn’t wait, so here I am typing with a chihuahua on one side and a boxer on the other.  We are currently in Abaco, Bahamas.  After getting parents and college students settled into their new places, we are taking a few weeks off before heading back to Florida to finish packing, staging, and putting our home there on the market.

At the same time, we will be cleaning, packing and organizing our motor-home.  Our tow vehicle is also being prepared for the trip.  We plan to live in the RV for the next two years, so there is a lot to think about.  How much clothing will we need?  Where should we store the kitchen supplies?  How much food should I plan to pack? I’m going to be doing a lot of cooking and baking int the RV, so I know I need some staples, but I don’t want to over pack either.

We have a route laid out for our first year.  Our trip begins the first week of May 2017.  We are heading up to the North East to visit my family before taking a northern route westward toward Colorado, New Mexico, and Nevada.  From there, we move toward Yellowstone and the surrounding areas.  After that, Washington State to see more family, then we head into Alaska for the summer.  I am so very excited about Alaska!

We plan to spend the fall on the west coast, then head somewhere warm for the winter months.  Bruce really hates the cold, so we agreed to warm weather areas January through March.  After that, I have no idea, but I know it’s going to be a fun and exciting experience.  I can’t wait to meet new people, taste new vegan food, and see things I have never seen before.  I have been reading a lot of other blogs about RV living, and I am excited to get going!
